In the New York City area, we run a number of community based programs independent of any schools or community centers. These programs, run by trained Play Rugby USA YDM's, more closely resemble youth recreation programs. They give the youth of NYC the opportunity to play more rugby, or the ability to play if their school does not have a program. We currently run two of these programs, one based out of Manhattan and one based out of Rockaway.

Manhattan Registration + Uniform $285.00 USD Rockaway Registration + Uniform $260.00 USD

Manhattan Program- Spring 2012

Where: Roof Deck Soccer Field, Pier 40 (West Side Highway and Houston Street)

When: March 28th to June 6th (no program April 11th due to Easter break)

Length: 10 weeks

Day: Wednesday

Times: 4-5:30 PM

Cost: $285 including uniform

Ages: K to 5th grade (flag, boys and girls) and 6th to 8th grade (tackle, boys only). Note: 5th graders that have had prior tackle/contact rugby experience can participate in the tackle practices but are unable to play in the middle school tackle league due to safety guidelines set out by the New York State Based Rugby Organization. For the tackle program, there will be an additional $10 fee through USA Rugby for liability and insurance purposes.

Weekend Games: Elementary team (K to 5th) will play in 3 Sunday tournaments at Chelsea Waterside Park in Manhattan, 4/29, 5/6, and 5/20 from 12-2 PM. The middle school team (6th-8th grade) will play in 3 flag tournaments at Randall's Island on Saturday mornings, plus 4-5 tackle games on Sunday afternoons. Dates TBC, awaiting for approval on permits.

One team from elementary and middle school will be selected to compete at the NYC Rugby Cup, our city-wide flag rugby tournament on June 9th which will have 70 teams in attendance.

Rockaway Rugby- Spring 2012

Where: Rugby Fields at Fort Tilden

When: March 26th to June 9th

Length: 10 weeks

Days: Mondays and Wednesdays

Times: Mondays 4-5:30 PM, Wednesdays 5:15-6:45 PM

Cost: $260 including uniform

Ages: K to 5th grade (flag, boys and girls) and 6th to 8th grade (tackle, boys only)
