The Los Angeles branch of PRUSA was founded in 2010 and has worked with well over 2,000 boys and girls through the After-School All-Stars (ASAS), Inner City Education Foundation (ICEF) and Beyond the Bell programs. PRUSA has focused on Elementary and Middle Schools, giving students in grades 4-8 an opportunity to take part in team sport, and experience valuable life lessons while making friends and having fun.

The highlight each season is without a doubt the exciting tournaments, which bring together all the school sites from each program. Teams compete for various trophies, with each participant receiving a PRUSA medal for taking part. Sportsmanship is at the helm of our program, with every tournament seeing one student receive the Spirit of Rugby award for showing exemplary sportsmanship.

The Play Rugby USA program's mission is "Developing Youth through Rugby". As an innovative program Play Rugby USA cleverly combines rugby with sports education, health, academic and community development programming to create a holistic and asset based approach to youth development. Underlying the program's success is the establishment of sustainable partnerships with urban schools and youth organizations, creating a systemic opportunity for youth during or after school.
